Important Updates On Surgery Appointments
The NHS in London is very busy due to rising coronavirus infection rates, but we’ll help you get urgent care when you need it.
Most consultations are over the phone and via video. This is for everyone's safety. We will assess your situation and invite you into the practice if needed. Appointments will be held in the best way to keep you safe from Covid.
GP Telephone Consultation
The doctor will call you between the times below:
For morning appt - between 9.00 am - 12.30 pm
For afternoon appt - between 2.30 pm - 7.30 pm
Please ensure you are available to take a call during this period.
Nurse and HCA Appointments
Contact the surgery on 020 7481 9376 for blood tests, vaccinations, health reviews, wound dressings and cervical screening appointments.
Citizen Advice Bureau, Smoking Cessation, social Prescribing and Diabetes Specialist Clinics are available for telephone consultation.
Face to face appointment
If you are given a face-to-face appointment please wear a face covering and arrive only 5minutes before the appointment to maintain social distancing and to keep everyone safe.
Please do not come to the surgery if you have any covid-19 symptoms, call us and we will make alternative arrangements.

Appointments can be made by calling our reception on 020 7481 9376 between 9.00 am and 6.30 pm every day.
Each GP appointment is for 10 minutes only. Please could you bear that in mind when you see the Doctor.
Cancelling an Appointment
Please help us to help you by always cancelling appointments when you can’t attend! This allows other patients who are genuinely sick to be seen instead.
You can cancel by:
- Cancel online using NHS App or other online applications
- Reply CANCEL to your appointment text reminder
- Use telephone automated system - Option 1 by calling the surgery on 020 7481 9376

Monday and Friday: 9.00am - 12.00pm 3.30pm - 6.00pm
Tuesday to Thursday: 9.00am - 12.00pm 3.30pm - 7.30pm
Our reception is open:
Monday to Friday 9.00am to 6.30pm
Extended Opening Hours:
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 6.30pm - 7.30pm

Patient Triage - Online Consultation
Patient Triage is a form-based online consultation that collects your medical or administrative request and sends it through to your GP practice to triage and decide on the right care for you and everyone else. There is no need to wait in a phone queue or visit the practice. It takes just 3-4 minutes to complete an Patient Triage request and your practice will get back to you within 2 working days, if not sooner.
If you can use Patient Triage it means you free up the phone line for those who are not able to use the internet.

Getting The Most Out of Your Consultation
The average GP consultation in the UK is about 7 minutes long. At Wapping Health Centre we provide longer Appointments at 10 minute intervals, with catch up longer appointments also added to the surgeries. We would very much like to offer longer appointments but this would affect the number of people that could be seen in a surgery. In an effort to maximise what can be achieved in your consultation, we put forward a number of suggestions.
